The plastic insert or embed is just to fit in the space between the glass and aluminum wall.

It's waterproof and easy installing, simply align the embed with the cutout on the aluminum extrusion, then use rubber hammer to work it in. Then the glass panel is secured on the aluminum extrusion, done.
